The MB6800 Mobile Router is really four devices in one box:
1. It is a Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect both screaming fast Wireless-G (802.11g at 54Mbps) and Wireless-B (802.11b at 11Mbps) devices to the network. To protect your data and privacy, the router can encode all wireless LAN transmissions securely with WEP or WPA
2. It integrates a built-in 4-port full-duplex auto-sensing 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. You can connect four PCs directly or attach more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. Once your computers are connected to the Router, they can communicate with each other too, sharing document files, a printer, storage space, and other resources.
3. It has a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, and supports VPN pass-through. An upgraded model even has a built-in VPN end point.
4. The Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share either a wired or wireless (3G/4G Cellular) broadband Internet connection. For fixed line, you can connect a cable or DSL modem to the WAN port. For Cellular, you can plug-in any 3G PC cards to the PCMCIA slot to access internet using EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, CDMA 1x, EVDO, EVDO Rev.A, or WiMax.
