New York, NY-The past year has brought more obstacles to the mixtape game than it has ever previously faced, including the arrest of DJ Drama, the ongoing RIAA witch-hunt and the continuous beef between
At a time when it is often rumored that there is no unity left in the hip hop community...
DJ Superstar Jay, aka the dude who never sleeps is showing love for all of NYC’s hottest club DJ’s, Mixtape Heavyweights and Street DVD companies.
On Tuesday, March 27th Jay will present the 2007 DJ & Street DVD Appreciation Party as well as a listening party for upcoming artist Storm P, whom you may remember from the Lionsgate motion picture “The Cookout” where he starred alongside Queen Latifah.
“It's time to put the BS aside and stand up!” Says Jay “This is an incredible opportunity to network with the hottest DJs in the game. Our hard work is a major reason the hip hop culture continues to flourish.” he continues “… We’ve got to put our egos to the side and come together in order to prove that we will not stop doing what we live for!”
The event is being held at Fusion Niteclub, 215 West 28th Street (between 7th and 8th Avenues) in Manhattan and starts at 7pm.
The guest list boasts some of the biggest names in the mixtape game, including “The Evil Genius” DJ Green Lantern.
“I just want to give something back. Sometimes we as deejays give off the impression that the mixtape game is all about ego…and its not, that’s just a persona. We are definitely aware of the fact that none of this would be possible without everyone involved in the process, from our competitors, to the artists, websites, clubs, magazines, record labels, radio and TV stations and of course the street dvds.”
The event is open to the public, but you must RSVP at djappreciationparty@
