Cinema tops the entertainment Media. During 1950-1980, hit movies depended on heroes and songs for their success. After 1980 most of films ran for 100 days or more even without established heroes. In the early days of the cinema people did not care much for directors but were fascinated by heroes, heroines, songs and music. Today, however, the director has taken the centre-stage and films are viewed for direction alone.
The directors are actually the backbone of the film because they visualize the film in entirety and decide the pace and action of the movie.
Among the movies released for Pongal 2007, Manirathinam, the veteran film Director, has penned the story, written the Screen play and directed Guru. The film deals with a man’s desire for ambition and success. Guru is the first Indian film to be projected digitally within India.

Yet another film to raise audience expectations is Padmashiri Kamal Hassan's Dasavataram directed by the famous Director K.S. Ravikumar. Both are experienced artists of the movie industry, and have already worked in "Avvai Shanmugi" which is both an entertaining and a successful movie. K.S.Ravikumar is capable of directing both commercial and action movies. conventions. The film was a big hit and Vikram won the national award for best actor. Vikram's powerful performance was possible because of Bala's splendid direction. Naan Kadavul is also expected and created an impact.
Surya's brother Karthik’s debut movie "Paruthi Veeran" is directed by Ameer, who also moulded Surya’s character with a difference in the movie "Mounam Pesiyathey". Ameers directions stand out in the films. "Raam" is a good example in which he has portrayed a boy who was obsessed with his mother. "Raam"
Bheema, with Vikram in the lead directed by Lingusamy, who also has several hits to his credit like Run and Sandakozhi. Bheema is also likely to create an impact on the audience. The Director will provide an entertaining film with action, glamour and dance.
