This touring exhibition uses mixed media as its canvas, and has been received with much acclaim. The exhibition’s images and sounds remind gallery-goers that in each community acts of violence against women do indeed exist; and the victims as well as perpetrators come from every social and economic background.
In this first time collaboration between male and female artists Gerald Pedros and Sylvia Curtiss-Norcross, ‘Enduring Women’ delivers a powerful body of work. While this particular subject matter is predominantly undertaken by female artists, an interpretation from a male artist’s perspective takes these images to another level.
This supportive and interactive exhibition allows the audience to participate in a safe environment by sharing their stories and personal experiences with violence. The cathartic process directly enhances the captivating content of the exhibition, which runs until April 14th.
