Global Travels Lead to Creative Learning

College Students Enhance their Education with Travel Abroad

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb 28, 2007 -
Fort Lauderdale, FL – February 28, 2007 -- From fashion to photography, interior design to graphic design, The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale students are enhancing their education with trips abroad. Ever dream of what it would be like to travel to Russia in spring, Japan in fall, Egypt in summer, or Paris in winter with an educator as your guide? Not to mention side trips to London, China, Florence, Greece, Taiwan, Milan, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Monaco, and Holland. As a college student, how would you like to stroll along the Great Wall of China, marvel at Versailles’ decor, walk in Van Gogh’s footsteps, shop in Milan, or stand in awe of ancient pyramids? The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale gives students of all programs of study an opportunity to experience an exciting array of travel for eager adventurers.

It’s one thing to read a book or watch films about famous museums, international textile factories, historical archeological sites, fashion houses, legendary castles, manufacturing facilities, and palatial palaces. It’s another thing to actually visit these places in person to touch, feel, and experience first-hand what can leave a lasting impression for a lifetime of creativity.

Thanks to technology, the global marketplace is shrinking with people living in one part of the world doing business simultaneously with others in another part. Designers are comparing and brainstorming on the Internet sharing and developing sketches, photographs, layouts, and more. By visiting up close the places around the world and meeting designers in their diverse environments, students are introduced to the beginnings of exchanging ideas and cultural perspectives in the millennium way of doing business.

At The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Photography students join Fashion Design & Fashion Merchandising students on trips to Florence and Athens. Interior Design students are joined by Industrial Design students to visit Rome and Paris. Graphic Design, Advertising, and Animation students journey to Amsterdam and Bath. Collectively, they are guided by instructors who are experienced and skilled at organizing and making arrangements for all the travelers. Fashion Design or Fashion Merchandising college students of The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale have exciting opportunities to travel with knowledgeable, five-time author, and fun educator Kathleen Colussy as a guide. Typically, these not-for-credit travel opportunities are organized by faculty for interested students during quarter breaks throughout the year, pending schedules and number of participants.

Combine real-life learning with hands-on education from industry professionals and the lure of traveling to enhance an education is a natural. College is a journey in itself and along the pathway there should be opportunities to explore future potential, meet interesting people, and gain perspectives of different cultures and lifestyles.
