Press Release – 2/20/2007 AA-9 Rotating Pedestal / Positioner
Antenna Associates Inc. of Brockton, MA has developed a dual function rotating pedestal called the AA-9. This pedestal is capable of BOTH rotating in azimuth at a fixed speed and “point and shoot” at a requested position. This unit can be used as for pointing antennas or optical equipment.
Rotational accuracy is another huge benefit to this rotating pedestal. The AA-9 monitors, verifies and corrects its own position thousands of times per second maintaining an extremely high degree of accuracy.
The torque of the AA-9 is another selling point. The compact unit has the torque capable of rotating a 14 foot, 200 lb. antenna at 60 RPM while maintaining rotational speed within 1/100th of a radian/second.
