Jack Olmsted, 4-H leader, shared, "I think this is a great connection for a company such as Sanyo which has a huge market share in digital electronics to foster a relationship with the largest youth organization in the country. Our 4-H Network News team, a youth-run multimedia club based at the Washington State University (WSU) Extension office, is going to actually test the nickel metal hydride (NiMH) cell in the field and file a report about their personal experiences and the product performance."
Pamela Roberts, Jefferson County 4-H coordinator, stated, "This support from Sanyo is greatly appreciated in our community where adults are working hard to give voice to rural youth through the use of online video and podcasting technologies. Batteries are always needed to keep activities moving forward and the fact that these are rechargeable helps get the message across to kids about using the most effective equipment with the least negative environmental impact."
David Isola, Senior Product Manager for Sanyo
Energy USA stated, "Sanyo Energy USA is happy to donate our eneloop batteries to an organization like the Jefferson County 4-H. With eneloop, and a sundry of other products within the “eneloop universe”, we are dedicated to developing clean energy products while maintaining harmony with the global environment through our “Think GAIA” initiative. Our batteries can be used over and over, and can be completely recycled without adding or removing hazardous chemicals into the waste stream. In step with Sanyo’s mission statement, our ultimate goal is to restore a beautiful earth for the generations to come."
