FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PR Log (Press Release) –
Feb 23, 2007 – England are currently two from two after beating Scotland and Italy and remain on target for the Grand Slam at around 13/2, but playing Ireland in their own back yard will be no easy task.
The match odds see Ireland as the clear favourites at round 9/20 while England are 12/5, while both sides are still in contention to land the Triple Crown before this clash at 10/11 Ireland and 19/5 England. The other Grand Slam contenders France host Wales and at 1/7 it will be a major upset if they can’t beat the Welsh, who are yet to win, and are trading around the 6/1 mark. Scotland play Italy at Murrayfield in the final game and although Italy are slowly closing the gap in class between themselves and the other five nations it will be hard to see them turning them over at 10/3 with the jocks around 3/10. The weekend’s games will of course have an impact in the outright market, but with France 4/6 before the weekend that price will surely disappear, if as expected they beat Wales, while England at 7/2 and Ireland at 4/1 remain the only other real possibilities. * All prices correct at time of writing.
