FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) – BRISTOL, Va. — “Faces of Freedom,” a new book profiling American soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan, has received pre-publication praise from U.S. Sens. John McCain , Chuck Hagel and Max Cleland.

The book — written by nationally acclaimed authors and print journalists, local television journalists and military veterans, and compiled by author and news anchor Rebecca Pepin — profiles one fallen service member from each of the 50 states, including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.  All proceeds go to help wounded veterans.  “Faces of Freedom” will be released on Armed Forces Day — May 19, 2007.

“This book is an important tribute to those men and women who give the ultimate measure of devotion to their country,” said Hagel.

“Faces of Freedom” is needed, said both Cleland and McCain.

“This precious volume helps us see up close and personally some of the lives that were lost in this war,” said Cleland. “We need this book. We need to connect to the most painful experiences of this generation and feel the loss and the suffering of the few.”

McCain said, “It is important to demonstrate the pride we have for those good men and women serving our nation everyday at great personal cost and that pride is evident here, in ‘Faces of Freedom.’”

Financial contributions for this volunteer effort are needed to help cover basic printing costs and to support the efforts of Fisher House (www.fisherhouse.org) and the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarrior project).

Sponsorship levels are as follows: Battalion Commander's Sponsorship, $10,000; Company Commander's Sponsorship, $5,000; Platoon Commander's Sponsorship, $1,000. Please make checks payable to: Wentworth Printing Corp, 101 N 12th St., West Columbia, SC 29169.
