Eldercare: Every Adult Child’s Fear Addressed in Free Community Seminars

Freedom Eldercare Offers Education To Those With Questions About Aging.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb 22, 2007 -
Hackensack, NJ– Freedom Eldercare, New Jersey’s leader in comprehensive eldercare service delivery, offers community education and training with its series of free local seminars on family issues and elder care. Aimed to educate those with pending eldercare issues, these seminars offer useful tips, education and real life assistance to help those with eldercare challenges understand the problems and manage the issues that frailty in a family member can cause. The educational offerings are also geared to help families adjust to life changes when they become responsible for the care of their aging parents. Topics range from “Transitions: Making a Successful Adjustment to Aging” to “It’s Hard To Be My Mother’s Mother: Exploring the Mother/Daughter Relationship.” The seminars are an ongoing service provided for free to community residents and are held locally at various venues in New Jersey.

“For the past few years, Freedom Eldercare has been presenting these seminars in the region as a local community resource. It is one way we are giving back to our community to fulfill a need for timely and relevant information as more families care for their aging parents or simply help the elderly transition in their next stage of life,” said founder and president, Steven Nerayoff.  “We believe that continuing education is the key to successfully serving the frail elderly along with both their professional caregivers and family members.”

Classes are taught by a team of elder care experts that represent more than 100 years of experience in the field of aging. The training team is led by Barbra London, senior vice president of operations & education and Janet Pincu, senior director of client services. London, a licensed clinical social worker, is also a highly regarded speaker and a foremost educator in geriatric and aging solutions in New Jersey. Pincu has been a leader in the field of geriatrics for the past 20 years.

One of Freedom’s most popular seminars offers tips on dealing with difficult people and is referred to as the “People Who Push Our Buttons” seminar.  “The beauty of this particular seminar is that it is a starting point for all of our management from different professions and educational levels to work together from the same page,” attests Gene Messner, director of organizational development at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ. “It is something everyone can use – from your work life on dealing with people you supervise or with your supervisor or to your home life with your family and into the public realm, as in dealing with a difficult customer. This demonstrates how Freedom is aware of what the local community and its caregivers need.”
