NEW YORK (Feb. 21, 2007)— The April/May issue of Adoption Today magazine will feature an excerpt from Adopting a Daughter from China, the latest book from iUniverse author Denise Hoppenhauer.

Hoppenhauer’s first book, Adopting a Toddler, was an iUniverse Star title in 2004. Now, she is taking some of the book marketing and publicity knowledge she gained from that experience and applying it to her newest offering.

“I just tweaked a section from one of my chapters, made it a standalone article and submitted it (to Adoption Today),” Hoppenhauer said. “It was one of the things I was asked to do when my first book became a Star title. It’s a great way to get ‘free publicity’ for a book with a small niche market and to give adoptive families a sneak preview.”

Each year thousands of families adopt children from China. The majority are girls between the ages of nine months and four years. Adopting a Daughter from China, written for first-time parents, offers practical advice that combines the challenging aspects of parenthood with personal experience and the unique needs of adoptive families.

“From the positive feedback I received about Adopting a Toddler and my previous experience as a China Program Coordinator for an international adoption agency, I quickly realized that families adopting Chinese daughters needed a childcare book of their own,” Hoppenhauer said. “While the basics remain the same, Adopting a Daughter from China includes expanded sections specific to adopting from China.”
