Rome Cruise Tour: Dealing With the Monuments of Rome When Having No Time

Experiencing sightseeing tours in Rome with private drivers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Feb 13, 2007 – Every year the tourism in Rome grows the 8% and this is due also to the new way to organize the trips to Rome. Even if Rome tourism became more seasonal since 9/11, more people is arriving to Rome by water ways, that is to say across the harbor of Civitavecchia. Starting from the month of April until November big cruise ships bring people early in the morning to see the monuments of Rome.
What are the monuments to see when having no time? This is a an hard question knowing also that 50% of the archaeological and art heritage in the world is preserved in Rome city.In addition, the main consideration to do is from where you can start visiting Rome.Civitavecchia port is located in the north of Rome, 50 miles far from the Colosseum and this means that if you have only one day at disposal, you will burn 3 hours in total traveling back and forth before emabrking again on your ship. Second, the first monument that is on the direction between Civitavecchia and Rome is the vatican city.
The vatican is the smallest sovereign country in the world since 1932 and its surface is only 104 acres. The Holy see is the spiritual government of the vatican city whose leader is the pope. The pope has the supreme authority in its country and rules over almost 1000 inhabitants. The vatican has around 10.000 visitors every day and this is due to the presence of the sistine chapel, that was built in the 15th century as private chapel of the popes and became the chapel where all the popes are elected. Despite the use of this huge hall, customers are always astonished by the frescoes of Michelangelo and Raphael who worked for decades in the vatican for the renaissance popes.
Another very important part of the vatican is the basilica built on the tomb of saint Peter which is considered the biggest church in the world.

If you want to optimize your time when arriving at Rome Civitavecchia port you need a private limousine driver who can show you around the main sights of the eternal city, like http://www.rome-tours.org
