FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) –
LeFeber is right in the middle of producing “RUNNING ON FUMES?”, an alternatives fuels documentary which seeks to explore the industrial world’s prospects for energy as the planet approaches a never before critical era - when the global demand for fossil fuels may become greater than the available supply.
The movie started off in late 2006 after LeFeber and State of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture formed an active partnership allowing him to be in the forefront of industry development. He began by focusing the film’s attention to corn and soy based fuels, as these two crops are the Midwest’s main sources of alternative energy. The production moves to California at the end of February to film segments on hydrogen fuel cells, and the emerging bio-engineering industry there. Several key UC Berkeley professors and researchers including Vojislav Stamenkovic, Ph.D., Graham Fleming, Deputy Lab Director at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Carolyn Bertozzi, Director of the Molecular Foundry, and Tadeusz W. Patzek, Professor Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering will be participating on camera. “I’m very excited to showcase the talent and research going into alternative energy.” LeFeber said. “Unlike previous films on the subject, a lot of this research has yet to be introduced to the general public. We just got lucky with our timing.” The filmmaker has reached out to celebrity activists Daryl Hannah, country superstar Willie Nelson, who founded Willie’s Biodiesel, and XM Radio DJ Legend Bill Mack. “Winning the fight for energy independence will need more than just industry advancements, it will take education and solid, honest PR. I feel fortunate to have sparked the interests of these very active and very vocal advocates for renewable fuels,” stated LeFeber. LeFeber’s film has also grabbed the attention of the White House. “We have extended an invitation to the President. His last two State of the Union speeches makes it clear he’s very concerned about our energy dependencies. The film would give him a great medium to articulate his plan in detail, in his own words. I would prefer that to just grabbing brief sound bytes off the news.” Then with a laugh, “And I guess it doesn’t hurt that I’ve worked with The White House on previous projects. That helped open up the door.” Although LeFeber expects the President to appear in the film, a shooting date has not yet been confirmed by the President’s aids. Jack LeFeber is Executive Producer of Esper Images Video & Multimedia Producers, LLC. a full service media production company, based in Milwaukee, WI. FOR MORE INFORMATION REGARDING RUNNING ON FUMES?
