Los Angeles, CA.- SGM Records, Record Label & Production Company, LLC. started the year signing a record deal with singer Frankie Alvarado, former contestant of the first generation of La Academia USA, reality show that airs in Azteca América. The Puerto Rican singer is now an exclusive artist of SGM and will be managed by Soledad Herrada who guides the career of singer and actress Diana Mera.
La Academia México has generated stars like Yahir, who got a fourth place in the first generation and today is one of the most popular Latin artists. The record sales phenomenon of Yuridia, who sold a million copies worldwide, also came from La Academia México; in the last five years Yuridia’s has been the second best selling album in Mexico. From a similar show called Operación Triunfo La Academia in Spain, second place finalist became Latin Pop idol David Bisbal.
Frankie is the first artist from La Academia USA (1st generation) to sign an exclusive record deal.
