Wiggle Puppy Productions Teams with Umphrey's McGee, Emtybag & UMVideo To Release Downloadable Videos
Wiggle Puppy Productions, the enigmatic Chicago based production company, headed by Director Mark Krieglstein and Producer Sara Yule, was called in by Lighting Designer Wade Wilby to document the behind the scenes of the Umphrey’s McGee 2006 New Year’s Eve run at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom. Meanwhile, fellow Chicago production companies Emtybag and UMVideo were pulling together a fan based shoot of the sold out three-night stand. A collaboration ensued as Wiggle Puppy joined ranks for this momentous occasion.
Having just upgraded to Canon’s HDV before the shoot, Wiggle Puppy was excited to test out the new cameras under the saturated stage lights (by Performance Lighting) and the high powered green laser (from Strictly Effects). With a mixed bag of digital video the three companies were able to truly capture the full show, from the high-energy lights and incredibly intricate music to the band’s intimate interplay.
“It’s brilliant to see Umphrey’s McGee harnessing the available technologies for what I think will become the standard for quick release videos in the near future”, says Krieglstein, referring to Umphrey’s McGee making the clips available as MP4 downloads at LiveDownloads.com.
