With just one meeting only a day under its belt, the Real Estate Investment Association of Macomb has already made an enormous impact.
A crowd of over 130 gathered at the Best Western Georgian Inn to witness the first of what promises to be a long series of quality investment seminars. Anticipation mounted as the founders, Nathan Mayes and Dylan Tanaka awaited 6 PM, when open networking started. "We are predicting around a hundred people to show up here, judging by preliminary statistics."
The night started out with an hour of networking, beginning at 6 PM, followed by introductions, raffles, and a period spent getting to know the people in the crowd. After Mr. Mayes and Mr. Tanaka gave speeches, the speaker of the night, Ms. Wendy Patton, begun her seminar on lease-optioning. All in all, we have been told around 30 people signed up just last night, and by the looks of it, many more will follow. One member of the Macomb REIA team was quoted saying, "Dylan and Nathan did an AWESOME job putting this together. As I was talking to people, there were two things that came out the most. One was the time of day that prospective attendees received their e-mail reminders; instead of showing up in the morning with 50 other e-mails, their reminders showed up in the middle of the day, when it was much easier to take the time to read them. Also, with one exception, there was no repeat of reasons of how people found out about the REIA - they infiltrated probably every possible way to advertise the meeting. The one exception was being brought by a friend… They did a fantastic job, and I am honored to be a part of their organization."
From the looks of things, the REIA of Macomb is indeed the premiere real estate investing club in Michigan, and promises to continue the proud tradition it has so recently begun.
