The Wright Business Centre, which opened at Queenslie in Glasgow earlier this year, is now firmly established as one of the city’s most stylish places to work.
The centre which featured prominently in the recent Architecture Scotland Annual has just received a further accolade with an award from the Glasgow Institute of Architects.
Judges from the Institute described the building as a ‘stunning new two storey business centre offering high spec and highly desirable lettable office accommodation.’
It’s a view that’s shared by the Wright Business Centre’s tenants who range from hi-tech companies such as software developers Mibis Solutions to International engineering firm JLG Industries and finance company State Securities.
The building was developed by Gem Workspaces, a community owned enterprise that has been letting space at Queenslie since 1987. Gem was keen to develop a centre that would attract more SMEs to the east of the city by providing luxurious headquarters style accommodation at prices smaller businesses could afford and its ambitions were backed by the European Partnership, Glasgow City Council and Scottish Enterprise.
The Business Centre designed by architects Elder and Cannon offers a range of fully serviced private office suites – many suitable for one or two people and others aimed at larger firms.
Services such as heating, lighting, building insurance, business rates, security, phones and internet access are all included in a single fee so smaller companies can free up time to concentrate on their own customers.
Manager John Russell said: “We are all delighted at this most recent award and we’re looking forward to hosting the GIA’s exhibition which features all the winners here at the centre in January.” If you would like to see round the centre or find out more about locating there - contact Manager John Russell on 0141 773 6200 or email johnrussell@
