Jan. 22, 2007 - PRLog -- The original vocalist of OBLITERATION/Death List, a christian death metal band based out of Oklahoma City, has just launched VeiLofDisdaiN.com. The band met its end in January 1999, but frontman, Richard G Puckett II, decided to launch the website to continue reaching out to troubled kids who "live within the darker side of life."

Says Richard, "I've always been involved with musically oriented ministries, and I've been out of it for a few years now. The traditional 'church establishment' tends to turn a blind eye to those who are different, simply because they don't understand kids like them. Unfortunately, they don't even try to understand them, oftentimes. I'm talking about kids who dabble in the occult, kids who have life-threatening drug problems. I'm talking about kids who rebel against any and all authority figures. A lot of the people I'm talking about are those who primarily listen to metal, goth/industrial music, punk, and/or hardcore music. Most of them come from broken homes, and they just need to know that someone cares and that there IS an answer - a solution. I just want to convey the simple message that there is a God who loves them. A God has died for them. And that there is a God who has a plan for their lives. A plan for success and not destruction. A plan for happiness and joy and not emptiness and utter depression or hopelessness. Regardless of anything they've done or how dark their past may be. I feel like I can relate to these kids, because I was once just like them. It's not about one's appearance, or the way they dress, or how fat (or empty) their bank account is. It's not about conforming to the ways or the image of your traditional clean-cut, suit-and-tie-wearing, old time gospel hour preacher, who says you're going to a bad place because you choose to express your individuality. It's about the heart. That's what God is concerned about. The outer appearance... that's just a shell. It's not coming with us when we step into eternity. God wants your heart, not your appearance. I just wanted to get out there and try to make a difference in the lives of our youth again."

Mr. Puckett said he would love to jump back into the music scene again and says he misses it badly. "I do miss it. Right now with VeiLofDisdaiN.com, it's almost sort of an extension of what I've done in the past with various bands. Music is still the theme that binds and brings everything together. However, right now is just not the time for it (a band). If it is God's will that I start another band again, He will put me there according to His time and will. Until then, I patiently wait."
