Plan B Birth Control Pills are Safe (Plan B had Approved by FDA)

The FDA has approved Plan B, a high-dose birth control pill that prevents pregnancy after unprotected sex by stopping ovulation. Plan B previously available only with prescription, but now it is easily available in any medical stores but woman still face obstacles to use emergency contraception despite a government decision.

Some pharmacists will not give it out, whether they do not want to see it on shelves because of lack of demand and many pharmacies refuse to stock Plan B.

Plan B is effective birth control pill it contains two hormone pills that prevent pregnancy and are considered most effective when taken soon (with in 72 hours) after unprotected sex. Plan B is not abortion pill Dr. Ken said. It may stop fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus. Research has not proved conclusively if that is the case.

The world's major chain has promised to carry Plan B in all their medical stores. But a check of small and family owned medical stores showed while most carry prescription birth control pill, which does not means that they are going for Plan B their preference may be some other birth control pill.

People those who live in rural areas particularly those in more undeveloped areas, said they have no plans top get it. Many medical stores does not have plan B birth control pill and that if a woman came in looking for the pills, she would not know where to refer her.

Plan B can reduce a chance of pregnancy by 89 percent if taken with in 72 hours after unprotected sex. Normally eight in hundred women have unprotected sex near ovulation may get pregnant, but the woman's those who are using Plan b only one would pregnant said Dr Bills.
