The team will be lead by Mayumi Raheem, who won a haul of ten medals with an impressive record - three gold, four silver and three bronze medals. She became the second most successful female swimmer from Sri Lanka in the South Asian Games history after Dipika Chanmugam who accounted for a record seven gold medals when Sri Lanka last hosted the Games in 1991.
The Sri Lankan swimming team will comprise of Mayumi Raheem (Captain), Imara Fahim, Miniruwani Samarakoon, Daniel Lee, Heshan Unambuwa and Milinda Samarakoon who has by far achieved an immense amount of goals at this years South Asian games held in Sri Lanka. As each country has their own unique personalities to be proud of, we as Sri Lankan’s should be proud of these young individuals who will definitely bring fame and glory to our motherland.

As the sponsor, hSenid will reward the Sri Lankan team for their performance at the Asian Games 2006. A cash prize of USD 200 for breaking any national swimming record, USD 500 for coming into the finals of an event and USD 1000 for winning a medal.
The 15th Asian Games, officially known as the XV ASIAD, will be held in Doha, Qatar from December 1, 2006 to December 15, 2006. Doha will be the first city in its region and only the second in West Asia since Tehran in 1974 to host the games The Asian Games is a multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The countries and regions participating in the Doha Asian Games 2006 come in various shapes and sizes and this year, a staggering amount of 45 countries will be participating for the games.
