Imperato campaign coordinator, Steve Kush, asked, Is there something in the water in New Jersey's capitol building? First, a gay Governor and now a Governor who thinks it's okay for same sex couples. Maybe they should switch to bottled water.
Imperato's campaign manager, Tony Hernandez, said, "As if there aren't already enough jokes about New Jersey, today the Governor made it possible for more jokes by signing into law the State's Civil Union bill. My faith and my morals tell me, marriage between a man and a woman is the foundation of our society. The founders of our nation understood this. It's wrong that the State's Supreme Court painted the state's legislature into this corner.
"Imagine if our nation's founders permitted gay marriage or civil unions," Hernandez continued. "America would not be the strong nation it is today." There would be no strong families; there would be no married men and women to procreate."
Kush asked, "What about the children? Is the State of New Jersey going to allow same sex couples to adopt, too? If so, these poor kids are going to have to deal with the stress of other children asking which man is your dad and which is your mom. What?s going to happen to Mother?s Day and Father?s Day in New Jersey??
"As President Daniel Imperato will fight for and get the Federal Defense of Marriage Act passed," Kush quipped.
