Bassman, who is former Senior Financial Director for the Detroit Lions, is on a mission to revolutionize Internet shopping. She embarked on this venture after leaving the corporate world in order to spend more time with her family. While at home, Bassman visited several web sites that promised to connect shoppers with the lowest prices form a variety of merchants. Bassman discovered that these sites were difficult to navigate, and she got lost in their long, unorganized lists of items.
Never one to sit still for long, Bassman dreamed of a more efficient and fun way to help online consumers find money-saving opportunities. Thus, she developed her own customer-friendly layout. Bassman has added seven holiday gift categories in addition to her usual seventeen product categories. Holiday shoppers will find that using her site can take much of the stress out of locating the perfect present.
Bassman’s company is attracting attention of consumers, retailers, and the media. In November, consumer expert Faye Prosser used Gonicofish.com to demonstrate the ease of online coupon shopping in a feature on Raleigh, North Carolina’s 17. This week, she will be featured in an article in the Oaklan, Michigan Daily Press.
Bassman represents the fifth member of her immediate family within four generations to found and run businesses. Her husband, Robert, owns his own accounting firm.
Bassman received her BBA from Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration in Troy, Michigan.
