Queen Elizabeth is coming to America's 400th Birthday party at Jamestown Virginia

On Wednesday, Nov. 15 the Queen announced to Parliament that she and the Duke of Edinburgh will be coming this May to celebrate the first permanent English settlement in America at Jamestown, Virginia.

The Virginia Hospitality Suite website (www.virginiahospitalitysuite.com) will welcome Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip by sending the first copy of the new "Jamestown 2007 Journal," a travel guide to the celebration of 400 years of U.S. history, to Buckingham Palace when the book comes off the press December 15.

This new book, in preparation for over a year, was created by three past presidents of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW).

Tom and Michele Grimm (co-authors of a best seller - "The Basic Book of Photography") spent two weeks in the Williamsburg area this past summer shooting fresh views of Historic Jamestowne Fort, Jamestown Settlement, Colonial Williamsburg and Yorktown. Their pictures in color and in full page b&w illustrate the new Jamestown 2007 Journal. Tom is a past president of SATW.

Jane Ockershausen toured the entire state of Virginia writing vivid descriptions of the state's most interesting and historic communities. She has written nine One Day Trip books for East Coast U.S. States. Some forty of her reports on one-day vacations around Jamestown - from Virginia Beach to Richmond - are featured in the Jamestown 2007 Journal. Jane is a past president of SATW.

Hal Gieseking is a photo journalist who has authored sixteen business and travel books. He is a former consumer editor of Travel Holiday magazine and a past travel consultant for CBS Morning News. He wrote a series of features on all the new attractions and events of Jamestown 2007 - including the new Archaearium (archeology museum), Revolutionary City in Colonial Williamsburg, the spectacular new America's Glory galleries of the Jamestown Settlement, and the USS Monitor Exhibition at the Mariners' Museum in Newport News. He is a past SATW president.
