Anne K. Edwards has been announced as the first author of the bookhitch community book project. The bookhitch project gives everyone the opportunity to write the next chapter of the book, decide the final plot and contribute to educational organizations.
Ms. Edwards will have her name placed next to the first chapter when the book is published. Included is an excerpt from Chapter One:
“A final thud, then silence.
She shivered and looked at the clock on the table beside the bed. Four o'clock.
Listening for intruders, she put out a trembling hand to turn on the light. Drawing a shuddery breath, she picked up the telephone that lay beside the clock. The police would know what to do. She had to try twice before successfully dialing the number. The line buzzed hollowly in her ear. Busy!”
