Leuven, Belgium – October 31, 2006 – Today iNuron announced the beta release of its Mc Nucle software v1.0. Mc Nucle is the first in a series of metadata management servers targeting home and small office networks. It turns Macintosh desktops en servers into general purpose metadata management servers, and plugs in on the Spotlight index in Mac OS X.
Mc Nucle promotes centralization of your data in the home network and provides remote access, sharing and metadata management capabilities. Users are offered comfort with security amongst the best available in the market. Certificates are used for authentication and end-to-end encrypted tunnels for data transfer.
The Mc Nucle transparently integrates with the Nucle Browser, iNuron’s revolutionary and free metadata browser running on Windows and Macintosh. Support for other apps is provided via the network bridge, the integrated iTunes daap server and UPnP AV compliancy. Respectively your Mc Nucle is recognized as a network drive in Mac OS or Windows, as a music library in iTunes and as a UPnP media server.
The Nucle Browser provides a location-free, active desktop to the user. “With a Mc Nucle running on your Mac, you can really use your data remotely as if you were at home” explains Jorre Belpaire, Managing Director at iNuron, “You can play your music and home videos at your parent’s place, or use your holiday pictures to run a live slideshow on your friends’ computer. No need to download first. No need for cleanup either. Just use your data at home from anywhere you are!”
iNuron releases the Mc Nucle v1.0 beta under a closed beta program with 1000 licenses on offer at 29euro, including a free upgrade to a full personal edition license upon final release. The Nucle Browser is free. More information can be found at http://www.inuron.com.
