CARY, North Carolina--The Web-based RailSync software product suite is available for purchase from Railinc. The product suite provides a complete transportation system package for shortline and regional railroads.
Railinc announced in May that it would no longer sell or market this product group, and that an orderly transition would be provided for customers. With that process well underway, Railinc is now seeking a buyer for the RailSync Transportation System.
The software product suite is made up of the following components:
1. Command - railroad transportation system including Mobile Command, which allows remote entry and retrieval of data using hand-held computer equipment.
2. Concur - Interline Settlement System (ISS) central interface for interline carriers.
3. Control - service bureau software that supports the car hire accounting process.
The RailSync Command and Concur systems are Web-based and allow customer access to transportation and financial data. The Control car hire component provides software that is used on a service bureau basis to calculate monthly car hire settlements and provide the required railroad industry file interface to car owners for participating railroads. There is a mechanized interface between Command and the other two components (Concur and Control) of the RailSync product suite.
