''Fashion Models get a rough deal because people are jealous of their looks and are secretly pleased when they have a hard time,'' according to Kelly England ex model and creator of Lifeofamodel.com. In order to combat some of the terrible situations that models and their wannabee's are enduring she is holding an exclusive free workshop 'Survival Guide to Modelling'.
The novel idea came to her after she received so many requests to help that she knew that something had to be done. She has worked as a top international model for 10 years in London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and everywhere in between. Starting her career at 16 when she won a modelling competition she flew to Japan for her first contract within hours of finishing her A Level exams. Since then she has been seen regularly in 'Marie Claire', 'Vogue' and 'Cosmopolitan' magazines and is a highly experienced veteran in the modelling world. She is a regular fashion commentator for the UK press. Kelly created the acclaimed Lifeofamodel.com which is the only website by models for models and it helps young people to succeed and to avoid the pitfalls of the fashion business. She is the leader of the unofficially named 'Model Movement' which is on a mission to clean up the industry. Kelly claims that even the most reputable modelling agencies routinely fail in their duty to protect their youngest models even when they have assured parents that they will.
The 'Survival Guide to Modelling' workshop will be the first of its kind and will help others to avoid the many dangers of working in modelling including drug use, eating disorders and unscrupulous agents. Daily, Kelly fields emails from dozens of models in sticky situations. Due to demand there are plans to extend the workshop to different cities in the UK. There have also been enquiries from four states in the US within 48 hours of the event being posted on Lifeofamodel.com. Kelly sayes, 'Many of our websites members are American and we are so excited by the support we get from that side of the pond!' We will be watching closely how this 'Model Mission' continues.
