Lisbon 19 September, 2006 – The live performance of the Gulbenkian Orchestra is the first of various concerts held from the 23rd of September to the 27th of October at this year’s 12th edition of the Live Music Festival in Lisbon.
Within a number of musical initiatives, the Festival maintains previous edition guide lines. Many musical master pieces will be heard for the first time, about 50, not only for adults, but for children as well.
For one whole month, the city of Lisbon will be a stage of musical and technological convergences. To start with, and paying homage to the Hungarian composer Gyorgy Ligeti, a concert to be held at the Calouste de Gulbenkian Foundation.
Following, from the 28th to the 30th of September, 3 unique concerts, bringing 3 outstanding creators of electronic music to the Franco-Portuguê
The young crowd will also get the chance to make their imagination fly to the sound of music with the Electroacústico Theater, presented by the Black-Box at the Cultural Center of Belém (CCB) from the 24th to the 27th of September. Also, at the CCB for children, but on a further date, to see is the Juvenile Symphonic Orchestra on the 25th of October.
In between, from the 19th to the 21st of October, still at the CCB, the OrchestraUtopica will be giving performing live during a by the name of SHOCK, amongst other. Furthermore, Miguel Azguime proposes a new musical scenario by putting electronics and real time video together for the “Itinerário do Sol” – The Itinerary of the Sun. The Maria Matos Theater also has concerts to be seen, on the 20th of October the Ensemble 20/21 will debut a combination of acoustic and electronic instruments.
On the 27th of October, for the grand finale, the CCB will gather the world’s most famous ensemble, the Ensemble L’Itinéraire.
