Telecommunications and VoIP provider NBS announced today the recent hiring of Jeff Davis as the new Director of Operations for the company. Davis has a long history with NBS, going back more than a decade when the company operated as TTI National. "I was General Manager for TTI/NBS back in '95 and I’ve been amazed at how much the company has grown and prospered since then" said Davis. "I’m excited to be a part of the NBS family again, and I’m looking forward to tackling the challenges that lie ahead” he added. "As NBS rapidly expands as an organization, my first order of business is to bring in experienced and professional managers to ensure optimal efficiency in provisioning and customer care" commented Russell Markman, NBS President. "Jeff's abilities and expertise in this arena are well known to us, and we have been impressed already with some of the early initiatives he has taken” added Markman.
In his new post as Director of Operations, Davis will be responsible for overseeing all network related activities from the company’s corporate headquarters in Wayne, NJ. He will play a key role in the coordination of people and processes company-wide, including the management of provisioning, customer service, technical support and network services. Davis will work in partnership with all division and department heads to assure the smooth interaction and utilization of corporate resources. He will report to both Markman and company CEO Jon Kaufman.
Davis has a BA in Communications from the University of Missouri St. Louis and spent 4 years in the Air Force in Tech Control. He was VP of Engineering and Operations for Mpower Communications and most recently operated as an independent consultant for companies like Sears, Tranzact and Verizon DSL. Mr. Davis has over 25 years of telecommunications experience, including positions with IXCs and CLECs, both in operations and engineering, as well as customer service and marketing.
Founded in 1984 NBS has a large mix of traditional TDM based telecom services that are resold through an extensive network of dealers and wholesalers, and supported with their own in-house billing, technical support and customer service divisions. They offer voice data and internet services nationwide utilizing the networks of world class carriers including Verizon, Qwest, Broadwing, and Global Crossing. NBS has also deployed their Voice over Internet Communications Exchange (V.o.I.C.E.)
