Bradford's only digital portrait artist, Christopher Dent is using the very latest technology in a bid to revive the lost art of portrait painting and make it more affordable and accessible.

Christopher has set up his own business called Lasting Impressions Art. Rather than using old fashioned brushes and easel, Mr Dent uses a state of the art computer painting program which he has customised. The program perfectly replicates oil paints, brushes and blenders.

Christopher paints from photographs so there is no need to sit for hours. The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Choudary Rangzeb and his wife Zahida were featured in a recent Telegraph & Argus article meeting with Christopher to have their portrait painted.

The Lord Mayor and his wife will be the first officials in England to commission a digital oil portrait. The Telegraph reporter Mark Casci said that Christopher's portraits on canvas are indistinguishable from those created with regular paint. The advantage of creating portraits with this new technique are that you can have more than one copy and you can choose how large or small you'd like them.
