When you think you may have a sporting prodigy on your hands, finding a suitable outlet for their talents may not be an easy obstacle to overcome. This was exactly the dilemma which Catherine Fairchild faced when her son exhibited considerable skill when taking part in a Karting event for a friends birthday. "My son, Calvin, was at one of his friends birthday's and when I went to pick him up from the circuit, one of the Race Marshals said he was a natural...like nothing he'd ever seen!" says Catherine about how her son's prodigious talent was unearthed. "Calvin was understandably enthused by the praise and would constantly nag me about going karting again, so I set about finding somewhere for him to go. This is when I came across a website called Capital Karting who had an excellent array of venues and packages that seemed ideal. When I showed Calvin the site he went wild and looked through all the circuits they had to offer!"
Karting is a highly skilled pursuit and Calvin's natural ability came as somewhat of a surprise to his mother, "I couldn't really believe it when I was told how good he was, I thought they must have been watching the wrong boy! The main problem that I faced was geographical and this is something where Capital Karting proved immensely helpful. Their website was excellent and so easy to navigate and it was simple to find the most suitable circuit for Calvin. We live on the outskirts of London and Capital Karting had Karting venues throughout London and the surrounding areas and when I phoned them up, they bent over backwards to accomodate Calvin," says Catherine as she explains the difficulties with which she was faced and how easily Capital Karting were able to overcome them.
In order to become successful and maximise his potential, Catherine was told Calvin would need to race on a variety of different circuits both indoor and outdoor, "Capital Karting were really helpful with this," says Catherine "they listed all the venues in terms of their track length, karts used, facilities and they even had circuit layouts so Calvin could see what he was in for before he'd even arrived!"
From a chance experience of Karting, Calvin Fairchild has emerged and during his short time behind the wheel of a Kart has shown enough potential to be considered a Karting champ of the future...something that Capital Karting will be keeping a close eye on. "When I told Capital Karting about Calvin they were really interested and asked to kept up to date with how he gets on in his race meets. Which, of course, Calvin doesn't even contemplate losing!"
