Microsoft Great Plains Posting Server is Dexterity customization, allowing you automatically post work batches without GP operator. Especially popular among eConnect eCommerce developers
Posting Server will require GP workstation with Posting Server to be running all the time, when you need automatic posting to happen. From perspectives of the developer – he/she needs to populate just one polling table with the batch record – this batch should be already available (created via eConnect, Integration Manager, stored procs, EDI, etc.) and be ready for posting. When batch records shows up in the polling table – Posting Server applies Microsoft Dexterity Source Code logic to post this batch.
• Easy Installation. It requires Dexterity chunk integration and creation of Posting Server tables
• Easy Programming. As a developer you take care to place record about the batch to post in single table
• Dexterity logic. It is virtually close to impossible to “program” posting logic in Great Plains from scratch – this task is comparable by its complexity to 20% of Great Plains business logic. However in the case of Posting Server you deploy Great Plains business logic itself, you do not imitate this logic in your customization
• Modules: Sales Order Processing, Receivables Management, Payables Management, and the majority of native GP modules. In some cases you will need other extensions, when you need to transfer Sales Order to Invoice for example.
