PRLog (Press Release) - Sep 20, 2006 -
Hollywood, Ca. September 19, 2006- At the Neighborhood Council meeting in Hollywood, held last Tuesday, September 12th, record producer and Cherokee Studios owner Bruce Robb spoke on behalf of the new “Cherokee Studios Loft” project. The proposed Cherokee project will be a green LEED silver certified mix-use development with residential over retail, replacing the existing famous recording studio.

The Cherokee project passed with a unanimous vote by the council- also receiving an overwhelming amount of support from the community. With continued positive approvals, the project is expected to commence around the second quarter of 2007. Until the start date of construction, Cherokee Studios continues to operate business as usual.

With his new indie label Quarter2Three launching, Bruce welcomes the change for the studio, which was ready for a new incarnation. He is extremely positive about the opportunity to work with developers who respect the creative historical significance of the site and who are committed to the environment, a cause Bruce is passionate about. “Global warming is no longer speculative. It is really happening and the environment is our most serious issue today. I hope that this project is a model for future developments,” said Bruce Robb.

Cherokee Studios is a famous recording studio that is responsible for nearly 300 Gold and Platinum albums. Occupying the former MGM Recording Studio’s space, Cherokee served the high end of the music industry for the past thirty-one years on Fairfax Ave. The site was originally built by Republic Pictures in the late 1920’s.

The project will be lead by RE-Think Development, an innovational real estate development company focused on leveraging high performance building technologies and green building practices to build higher value, healthier and more environmentally sound communities for the future.
