Los Angeles, CA— The Dead Rebels and Cher join forces with Operation-Helmet, a charity that provides life saving helmet upgrades to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Southern rockers, the Dead Rebels, donate a track to the inspirational compilation disc titled; A Tribute to Heroes released July 2006.
The Rebels contribute the song, “Against My Skin”, off their self-titled debut release produced at Cherokee studios. The inspirational compilation disc, A Tribute to Heroes, is dedicated to the U.S. Armed Forces, and fallen heroes alike. All of the profits from the tribute CD go to benefit Operation-Helmet.
“Whether you are for or against the war in Iraq,” says the lead vocals and guitar of the Dead Rebels, Lance Palmer. “ Providing safe equipment for the troops is definitely important to the safety of the brave men and women overseas.” The helmet upgrades decrease the chances of brain injury in military combat.
Operation-helmet is a nonpartisan grassroots effort started by Dr. Bob Meader in 2003 whose goal is to help provide the troops with a helmet upgrade kit. Upgrade kits include a new strap system and shock absorption pads that help to keep the helmet from colliding with the skull when hit with blast forces.
