Whilst publicising his new TV show Oliver attacked and insulted parents blaming them for the increased incidence of preventable diseases, obesity and behaviour problems amongst children.
Capt Long John Tofu of The Pirates of The Carob Bean said in a talk today "He be a mongrel with the brains of boson's bucket if he thinks that calling folk masterbaterers and bottom holes is going to vegdumacate them to betterer ways"
The Pirates of the Carob Bean are committed to the education of the UK public and encouraging understanding about optimised diets with a focus on nutrition.
Whist the Pirates agree that parents need to be more responsible they maintain the blame lies with the Government, NHS, DfES, FSA , schools, family Doctors and dieticians.
The health promoting pirates say that many Doctors still have a limited understanding about nutrition and many are more apt to for instance prescribe laxatives rather than advise more fruit and vegetables in the diet.
They Pirates also say that NHS initiatives such as those at Croydon, Southampton, and Cambridge where hospital catering is provided by Burger King is proof of how the NHS system dismisses healthy food as a root to good health.
"They rarely be looking beyond the calorie content" says Tofu.
If you don't avidly watch TV programmes such as Gillian McKieth 'You are what you eat' the Pirates of The Carob Bean claim the root to healthy eating messages for a parents are in a minefield with an assault course of conflicting advice.
The Pirates are encouraged by new school food guidelines that no longer allow the use of rectum, testicles, lung, feet, and other waste parts of animals in school food as well as rules to ensure free water to drink and restrictions on fatty savoury snacks and sugary sweets, but they say the schools still have a long way to go.
The issue of essential omega 3 fats in school dinners remains un-addressed, despite much publicity and a major trial in Durham school food guidelines only advise oily fish one every few weeks. The Pirates advocate fortifying foods with a fish free omega 3 DHA and EPA from micro algae which is set to be a more economical, more environmentally friendly and sustainable and less prone to toxins than fish.
The Pirates of The Carob Bean join other pirates from around the globe to celebrate 'International Lets Talk Like A Pirate Day' on September 19th
