Is Business Education only for the elite or the wealthy?
With MBA courses costing many thousands of euros, dollars or pounds (take your pick) it would certainly seem so.
Yet what are we seriously looking for with an MBA or a BBA? A piece of paper that will land us a good job? Or are we seriously looking for training that will enable us to hold down that good job if and when we land it?
There is little doubt that having an MBA is useful – although not quite as useful as some would imagine. Unfortunately there is a lot of evidence to suggest that many holding such a degree believe that is all they need and the world will fall-in behind them and keep shelling out the shekels (dollars, euros, pounds etc – again, take your pick!).
Of course this is all fantasy land, as at the end of the day it is the KNOWLEDGE that counts. But as stated the acquisition of such knowledge is getting more and more expensive.
The weight of getting knowledge is therefore financially severe, – and even if buying books is a financial option – well, good luck, as these also have a tendency to be sold and bought by weight. How to actually study using them is in itself a logistical exercise. Plus even text books are not cheap, and the brightest student will often feel overwhelmed by (again) the sheer weight – as in kilos. that these tomes carry.

What is not exactly the same is the price. Where Seminar attendance is often in the thousands of euros mark – and even a text book can carry a hefty price tag of 60 – 80 euros – Norm’s CD’s are priced at between 29.95 and 49.95 euros – and you get to keep the whole thing.
There is a continuing range of subjects to study, but currently there are International Marketing, Marketing for SME’s, Brand Management, and Marketing Psychology – all in the 4-Day equivalent range, whilst there are two shorter ones Direct Marketing, and Sales Promotion. Others are in the pipeline.
Several of the Courses also offer a FREE MBA level Diploma Examination, which as they stress is NOT a full MBA qualification, but serious evidence of quality study time in these important subjects.
