New York, NY - Aiming to fill a gaping void in the U.S. Hispanic consumer media market, the Spanish-language magazine Médico de Familia will offer health content focusing on specific Hispanic health concerns. In a joint venture, the non-profit Interamerican College of Physicians and Surgeons (ICPS) and New York City-based publishers Parlante Inc. are readying the national Spanish-language health magazine for a January, 2007 launch.
As its title implies, Médico de Familia’s articles are written by ICPS-member doctors whose everyday experiences give them insight into the needs and concerns of the Hispanic patient. The 2007 editorial calendar, rich in themes that address the unique health profile of the Hispanic demographic, will ensure compelling content for the consumer. The magazine’s distribution channel—Latino doctors’ waiting rooms—will stimulate readers to consider their own health needs as well as those of their loved ones.
An initial qualified monthly circulation of 60,000 will be distributed at over 20,000 medical clinics located in all the major Hispanic DMA’s. Health, Pharmaceutical, Lifestyle and other likeminded products and services will finally have a powerful print medium to deliver their advertising, marketing and branding strategies to this dynamic community.
