• Dex customization upgrade. If your custom piece was written for Ctree or Pervasive SQL database platforms – more likely it deploys Dexterity cursors. Since the end of 2004 Microsoft discontinued support for these platforms and your customization needs review to be moved to MS SQL Server smoothly
• New Dexterity features. Since version 7.0 Dexterity supports COM objects and enables you to call XML web services (through COM object)
• Industry Solutions. Distribution & Logistics, Warehouse management require Barcoding functionality. You might also need custom reporting needs, going beyond the old-good-days Great Plains ReportWriter – in this case you can either deploy MS SQL Server Reporting Services or even rescue to Crystal Reports to do the job
• New Technologies. In the past we would probably be recommending such tools as VBA/Modifier, heavy Dex development – now you will hear more recommendations to deploy eConnect (especially its XML web services interface), SQL stored procs & reporting services
