Many consumers and users are still very sceptical when it comes to the use of biometric technologies. A lot of them don’t see a personal advantage in these applications. This causes a great uncertainty not only in consumers but also in suppliers of biometric solutions. With the increased adoption of new technologies both the Steinbeis Transfer Centre as well as Biometric & ID Consulting observe a strong demand for consulting-services in this field. “Human beings are able to recognize other persons very easily and efficiently”
Both partners announced the foundation of the alliance Source of Trusted Identification – SofT-ID today.
The intention is a global and neutral consulting of companies and public authorities that are interested in the use of biometrics. Soft-IDs consulting services range from the possibility of feasibility studies and technical consulting to complex project handling or preparation of tender documents. “Through our long experience in this field we are able to technologically consult on the level of the supplier, but also keep the possibility to stay neutral and to point out existing risks in advance”, describes Dietmar Fischer the advantages. Besides these facts, Soft-ID also intensively considers the data security aspect and integrates this into their consulting services and projects. “Recognition only suits security if the personal data is handled trustworthily.”
