Daniel Corby, founder and CEO 118trades appoints Neil McDermid as publisher of fido local magazine division
Fast growing 118 group, which takes in 118trades, 118gethitched, 118telecoms and will be soon be entering the mobile market with 118mobile has appointed Neil McDermid as publisher of the magazine business, titled Fido Local.
118trades entered the publishing business in August 2006 with the launch of FIDO, a new advertising led publication which is distributed via free distribution. Fido is a brand owned and controlled by parent company, 118 Group, a multi million £ b2b operation in Chelmsford, with offices in Harlow and India.
Speaking about the appointment of Neil McDermid, Daniel Corby, the founder and ceo said “Neil McDermid is a very talented publisher and we are very happy to formalise the appointment following the printing and production of the first issue. 118 Group, the parent business has committed around £300k to the launch of Fido Local, which is initially a bi-monthly publication. The group fully expect the product to be rolled out regionally on a town by town basis and we are currently highlighting the first forty towns to hit. The magazine is a high quality publication, which has the appearance of a paid for title and oozes quality. The magazine includes advertising for National and local brands with a cross sell for our own brands within it”

Recent high profile appointments to the board have included business veteran Richard Allan, formerly CEO of Perry Group plc and High Craen, former MD of Potential Finance Group plc.
