After the long wave of excessive decadence, garish fashions and, crazy fusions in design, we yearn for a simpler and more honest kind of luxury. Amy Bengtson’s jewelry is a refreshing moment of silence amidst the cacophony. Her designs, with their casual elegance, can blend effortlessly with your trusty True Religions as well as your favorite little black dress. Sophisticated, clean, and contemporary, her jewelry is like a welcome pause in the hectic pace of life.
Amy Bengtson proudly announces the debut of her new e-boutique. “This website really represents my style and attitude, and I’m happy that people who can’t visit my boutiques can see and buy my work.” Featuring her signature lines of necklaces, earrings and bracelets, they are meticulously crafted in silver, gold fill and Moretti glass.
This fall, she will also release a limited edition of rosewood and mother-of-pearl pendants. In a one-of-kind collaboration with Oregon Biennial artist Amy Ruppel, the necklaces feature cut-outs of Ruppel’s simple yet poignant imagery of birds, eggs, and nests. The rich rosewood stands in delicate contrast to the inlaid mother-of-pearl and sterling silver backing. Infused with sweetness and innocence, these pendants are easily an everyday favorite. The first two in the series, available in September, are irresistible, so act fast!
Her work is beginning to make waves. Last year, Tipper Gore purchased six of her pieces at a National Cancer Society charity event that Bengtson sponsored. Ms. Gore was thrilled to support an up and coming designer at this event and joins a long list of well-known artists and designers who have eagerly acquired Bengtson’s work over the years.
Blending femininity with rigorous design, Amy Bengtson’s jewelry possesses both a sense of harmony in its clean lines and balanced forms with a playful touch of color and sparkle.
